A long, narrow wooden stay busk carved from dark brown wood, designed to be inserted into the front center of a woman's stays or corset for structural support. The busk features six decorative inset medallions arranged in three pairs down its length - two diamond-shaped medallions at the top, two circular medallions in the center, and two more diamond-shaped medallions toward the bottom. Each medallion appears to contain painted or carved decorative motifs in cream and gold tones. The busk tapers to a point at the bottom and has a small hole at the top for attachment. This functional undergarment component represents the practical construction methods of late 18th-century women's foundation garments during the Revolutionary period.
